THE SUSTAINABILITY

Our Vision

Besides that we want to make beautiful designs for all women, AYA LABEL wants to be part of the environmental changes… As a team we constantly try to think of ways how to make an impact.

The last 3 years we dedicated the brand to reducing the plastic problem and making the oceans plastic free. Our designs are made of 78% regenerated old fishing nets and other nylon waste that is polluting our earth. From here we create all of our designs you love! We are always looking for new recycled and sustainable fabrics to work with. But unfortunately working with these recycled materials isn’t enough…

The Lungs of the planet

Plants and trees take in carbon dioxide and release oxygen back into the air in their process of photosynthesis. This is why the Amazon, which covers 2.1 million square miles, is often referred to as the “lungs of the planet”. Last year the major fires increased with 80%.

Doesn’t sound good right?

With our Amazon sports collection we want to contribute to the awareness of the wildfires. We donate a percentage of our profit towards Amazonconservation.org

Be an Amazon, Save the forest

Step 1. Rescue
The plastic problem in the world is very big. Our oceans are filled with plastic and 50% of this plastic is fishing nets… There are a lot of different initiatives and organizations worldwide, who devote their time on cleanups and collecting the plastic waste and ensure they become a valuable resource.

Step 2. Regenerate
The nylon waste is recycled back to its original purity through a radical regeneration and purifications process. ECONYL® regenerated nylon is exactly the same as virgin nylon.

Step 3. Remake
The raw material of ECONYL® is processed into textile yarn for the fashion industry.

Step 4. Reimagine
With the ECONYL® yarn our manufacturer creates our high quality designs. And this is how the AYA designs get born… The result is high quality, comfortable designs for all Goddesses out there!

Step 5. Upcycling
We think it is important not to waste materials. We work together with the organization FREETHEGIRLS, to give you the opportunity to send your old designs back and give them a new purpose… We do the same with our dead stock.

Transparency

The past years sustainability is a word used a lot. Sometimes for the right cause, but often misused by all kind of companies. We want to be transparent and have to be honest that perfection is impossible. We work hard on growing everyday and we promise that we do everything to be our best version…!
You can ask us all your questions and we will always answer these honestly. We think being transparent is the most important.
If you agree with our methods and love our designs, be the AYA Amazon you are!

Our Factories

As an ethical brand we think it’s important to know who you work with and care about everyone in the production process. We work together with small family-owned and ethically run factories in Istanbul and Bali. For us it’s important that the people have healthy and safe working conditions, such as a fair wage, work-life balance and time off. We visit our factories often and have good contact with the people who work there.

Words from Women in The Free the girls
Program…

“Thank you… selling bras is so good because I’m earning money. We have to work as women so that we are not violated by men. We should have our income so we can sustain life, a life that everyone yearns to have.”

“This project has made such a huge difference in my life and the lives of my children.”

“I didn’t know what was next. But then I started my business and started selling bras.”

“Nobody could change my life. I needed to take the first steps.”

Our Upcycling project

We think it is important to not waste anything and give you the chance to do something amazing with the designs you aren’t going to wear anymore. Also we wanted to do something great with our dead stock to prevent waste.

We want to inspire you to think about not wasting your designs. You could give them to someone, use the fabric for a creative project or you could send us the designs. But most importantly don’t throw them away!

To motivate you to give your designs a second life, you will get a discount code for 15% off on your new purchase, after sending us yours…

We started a collaboration with Free The Girls, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization devoted to coming alongside sex trafficking survivors with a path to true freedom. It’s a journey from horrific trauma to reintegrating into the life they were meant to live within their family and community. Their goal is true freedom for these women and they do this by giving these women the chance to create economic freedom.

We will donate all of our dead stock and your designs (if they are clean and in good shape) so these women can sell them on local markets and work towards economic freedom!!!

“Did you know that we always make scrunchies or other accessories from our leftover fabric?”
